34 weeks

I am 35 weeks today (I'll try to take a picture later), but here is a picture from last week. Kylee and her friend Gracie have been pretending once in awhile that their bellies are getting bigger because they are pregnant, too! Kylee decided to get in the picture with me and stick out her stomach. After my picture, I got one of Kylee by herself. I should have asked her how many weeks she was!!!

Catching up (Part 2)

From Iowa, we went to Minnesota to see my sister and her family for a few days. My parents were also there visiting, so we were able to spend some time with them, too. Here are a few pictures from our time there. It snowed all day one of the days that we were there, so I was really happy about that. I love snow and miss it now that we live in Louisiana.

Kylee & Kade

My aunt & uncle and two cousins came up to visit one night so here is all of us girls plus Kade

Here's the guys

My mom and dad bought shirts for the 4 youngest grandkids that matched. Kylee and DJ called them cousin shirts!

For Christmas this year, I got in the creative mood and made some of the gifts.

I made this shoulder bag for my sister.

I had some material left over so I made myself a purse. Ok, this wasn't a Christmas gift to myself but I thought I'd through in a picture of it anyway.

Kylee of course wanted one, so off we went to the fabric store and found some cute material for her. I made a couple for her friends too that matched.

I made this tote for Josh's mom for her crochet projects, etc. I had never made anything like it before, so was a little apprehensive about it, surprisingly it was rather easy and didn't take very long to make. I found a great tutorial for a bag and then adapted it from there.

This is a flannel rag quilt that I made for a friend of mine. It was fun and also rather easy to make. I think I'll have to do another one sometime.

Catching up

Sorry, it's been forever since I blogged. Well, here are some pictures from Christmas. On our way to Iowa to spend Christmas with Josh's family, we stopped overnight at our friend's (Jason & Beth) house in Missouri. From Iowa, we went to my sister's house in Minn and spent a few days with them and my parents were also there. There are already going to be quite a few pictures for this post, so I will do another post for the Minnesota leg of the trip.

Christmas morning - Amy, Joanna, Dan, Esther, Joshua, & Kylee (she got princess dress up clothes which she had to try on right away!)

Kylee & Papa - we had freezing rain the night before, so the snowman wasn't as big as Kylee would have liked it to be. :-)

Snow in Louisiana!

About two weeks ago, we woke up to snow! It's been YEARS since they have had snow in Louisiana. In some places they had I think up to 4 inches of snow. We only had 1/2 an inch, but it was fun while it lasted (till about 10am).

Joshua's Birthday

I've been so busy getting ready for our trip and finishing up Christmas presents, that my blogging got put on hold for a couple weeks. Josh's birthday was December 5th and he had drill that weekend, so Kylee and I drove down on his birthday and surprised him. I had called on of his friends and let him in on the surprise so he could get some of the guys to go to dinner with us for his birthday. He was completely surprised and we had a great time there. He wanted a strawberry shortcake for his birthday cake, but Kylee said that the strawberries weren't boyish enough. She finally agreed that he could still have the cake if she put blue sprinkles, a blue truck, blue car, and blue airplane on it. She found the ones she wanted at the store and then arranged them on the cake. Here is the finished product!

While we were in Biloxi visiting Josh, we went to the outlet mall in Gulfport and they had a playground there that Kylee had a lot of fun on. She had never climbed a climbing wall that high before, but got the hang of it quickly.

I found Kylee "teaching" her baby and bear in her room.

Zane hasen't even been born yet, and getting in the car has been taking twice as long because we must make sure that the baby and bear are safetly buckled in their seat belts.

28 Weeks

Here is me at 28 weeks (plus 3 days). You all will have to agree that I have a baby bump now! I went for my appointment last week and also had my glucose test. They messed up and took my blood too soon so they had to call me back and take it again. Given how much I love needles, I was just overjoyed to hear that I had to go back and have it taken again! Thursday also was the day for my shot to since I have RH negative blood. Kylee kept asking me if it hurt. I had to be a big girl for my 3 year old!! The good news for the day was that Zane is doing good and growing a the right rate.

Christmas Tree

Kylee was very anxious to get the tree up when we got home (literally). We put it up Saturday night. She loves the star on top and the Nativity scene at the bottom under the tree.

Kylee and Daddy putting on the star (the picture is a little blurry, but it was the best one I took)

Ta-da!

Thanksgiving '08

For Thanksgiving this year, we met up with three other families in Branson, Missouri. We had fun and relaxing time and made a lot of memories. We spent the week relaxing, taking the kids to the park at the resort, went and rode go carts, played miniture golf, went to the Christmas show at the Dixie Stampede, saw Noah the musical, spent the day at Silver Dollar City, and had a nice Thanksgiving dinner together. Thanks to Jana for organizing our vacation. It never would have happened without her.

Here's the whole group. Patrick, Corene, Tea, & Avery Doherty, BJ & Jana Hemion, Joshua, Esther, & Kylee Smith, & Jason, Michelle, Kelsey, & McKayla Corder

Patrick, Joshua, BJ, & Jason

Corinne, Jana (& baby boy), Esther (& Zane), & Michelle

Here's a funny little tidibt - Jana and I are both having boys and are due 10 days apart. When we were all together about 6? years ago, Michelle & Corinne were both pregnant and both had girls 10 days apart. This isn't a tradition that we plan on continuing with!

At the Dixie Stampede - Jason, Levi, Beth, Nate, Esther, Joshua, & Kylee

Us riding the go-carts. Kylee hadn't ever been on one and had a great time, except that she wanted to go faster.

Kelsey, Tea, & Kylee - at the miniture golf course

A really cool statue at the Sight & Sound theatre

what we saw Josh doing a lot during our vacation!
