Kylee's hair cut

Kylee has had her hair trimmed before, but never had a major cut. I loved her long silky hair, but with our hot humid summers and camps, we decided to cut it. She loves her new hair cut and we think it turned out pretty cute, too. Here are before and after pictures.

Beach wedding

Last Saturday, we drove to Gulfport, MS and Josh performed a wedding on the beach (actually in the water!). The groom is a friend who is in the Air Force Reserve with Josh. The bride was from Sweden and her parents flew over for the wedding, so that was really special. It was a small wedding and absolutely beautiful. It was nice meeting a couple of the guys he works with and getting to know their wives a little bit.

Ottuwma visit

Dan, Joanna, & Amy picked Kylee and me up from Beth & Jason's the next weekend and so Kylee & I ended up spending about a week with them. Kylee throughly enjoyed all the attention from Nana, Papa, & Aunt Amy. Kylee helped Papa plant flowers, ate lunch quite a few times at McDonalds (she doesn't get to go there very often, so she was quite happy about that), visit Nana at work and played with Maggie (their dog). I painted Joanna's kitchen and dining room for her.

These crosses are in front of the church where Dan preaches at in Ottumwa. The sunset looked absolutely gorgeous behind them.

Joshua's Mo & Pa came up the next weekend for Tayt's graduation. (Tayt is Joshua's cousin)

We finally made it home at 1am the next Monday night (Tuesday morning). It was a lovely trip seeing friends and family, but it was also wonderful to be home and see Joshua and also be in my own bed again. Kylee was overjoyed to see her daddy again and also be in her own bed.

Time with friends in Missouri

We spent a day in Missouri with Jason, Beth, Levi, & Nate. Joshua had to leave the next morning to go back to Louisiana. I was able to stay a few more days, because I was able to travel back to Louisiana a week later with Josh's grandparents who were coming up to Iowa for Tayt's graduation. It was wonderful to spend some time with them, since we don't get to see them nearly as often as we would like to.

Short visit in Minnesota

We left on Mother's Day evening and drove up to Minnesota to see my sister and her family. We also saw my parents who were also visiting.
On Monday, we went on a bike ride and had lunch at a park.

aTana, Kalai, & Malia are part of a home school band and their concert was on Monday night. We were excited that we were able to be there for that. They did a fantastic job!

Tuesday we went to the Minnesota Zoo. They had a section in the zoo called "The Farm" where they had cows, pigs, a bull, goats, chickens, etc. I think Kylee's favorite was the goats because she got to feed them.

When we were getting ready to leave the zoo, we wanted to take a picture of all of us but both my sister's and my camera's batteries were dead. Oops!! I did have my video camera and so we used that, but I haven't stilled a picture from the video yet!

We had to leave that afternoon to go back, but even though visit was way too short, it was well worth the drive.

Dianna & Nathan's Wedding

A little over a week ago, we drove up to Iowa for Dianna & Nathan's wedding. Kylee was so excited to see Dianna. She was like a magnet to Dianna the whole rehearsal.

Kylee fell asleep during the wedding as soon as Josh started the ceremony! She hadn't had a nap that day, and her Daddy's voice must have just put her to sleep!!

We were here in Ottumwa for Mother's Day morning and then headed up to my sisters in Minnesota Sunday night.

Kylee's big girl bedroom

Kylee didn't actually get a new bedroom, just different bed, sheets, comforter, & some pictures. She loves it. I refinished the bed and was rather happy with how it turned out. I used to help my dad do stuff like that when I was little, but this was my first project on my own. The down comforter and duvet cover came from Ikea, the sheets from Wal-Mart, and the poster and picture frames from Dollar Tree. I spray painted the frames all the same white and put calender pictures in them.

Kylee & Me

Kylee and I were playing in her "new" bedroom yesterday and I was taking some pictures. This was such a great one of her that I thought I'd put it on here. We put her toddler bed away and gave her my old twin bed that I had when I was in high school. I need to put a couple more pictures up on her walls and then I will take pictures and put them on my blog. I'm really excited with how it is turning out.
