Springtime
Everyone (except me) has been sick off and on for the past couple weeks, but I think we are through it now. Yesterday we were finally able to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Kylee rode her bike with the kids across the street and Zane and I sat in the grass. We also got some stuff cleaned up around the outside of the house. After taking care of sick people for a few days, it was nice to get something accomplished! Kylee is on spring break this week. Yay! It is nice to have her home. Zane has been enjoying her company, too.

Zane's 1 year pictures
We took Zane to JcPenny's for his 1 year pictures. The lady did a great job and made it difficult to pick. I was hoping that he would get his nap before pictures and I got my wish. We (Josh's mom and I) had to wake him up when we got there which made him a little groggy for the first few pictures, but woke fully up and started smiling for the last half of the pictures. Yay!

Happy 1st Birthday Zane!
Yesterday Zane turned 1. Wow, where did the year go? He was born at 5lbs 7oz and is still on the small side. He is my little man and has brought us so much joy. He and Kylee love each other and love to be together which is a huge blessing. He is soooo busy and sometimes gets referred to as a Zane hurricane that has just passed through my living room for the 10th time that afternoon!
Dan and Joanna (Joshua's parents) came down for his birthday. We had a small but memorable (at least the adults will remember it) party. My parents joined the party on Skype! We just had some friends over too who have a little girl who is a couple months older than Zane. I made Zane's cake, and then Joshua decorated it. It was VERY impressive. All he had to go on was a picture. Good job, Babe!

Time for presents. This rocking horse came from Josh's parents. It's a little big now, but soon he will be able to have a lot of fun on it. Kylee has been really enjoying it! He didn't understand why he had to keep opening more gifts when he just wanted to play with the one he had just opened. :-)
Anna and Zane play quite well together. It was too cute.
They love doing this together!! I had to snap this picture because my mom has a picture of my sister and me doing the same thing when we were little. :-)
Kylee decided that Papa needed to be comfortable and tucked in for a nap. I don't think he was planning on a nap, but Kylee must have done to good of a job because Papa fell asleep!

Pinkeye again!
So, last Friday Kylee woke up and one of her eyes was red and I just thought it was allergies so I sent her to school. At 8:30, the school called saying that a little boy that sits next to her had pinkeye and they think that she got it. Oh joy! Neither Josh or I have ever had pinkeye or ever seen it so we had no idea about it. Anyway, her doctor wanted us too keep her home for 48 hours so we ended up having to miss church last Sunday.
And then yesterday comes and I look at Kylee and see that her other eye is pink. Having seen it now, I think that she does have it in her other eye. How does that happen a week later?? I thought you were only contagious for 24 hours. So, here we are again on Sunday morning at home. Josh would gladly stay home, but being at church is part of his job so I have to do part of my job and take care of my girl.
Kylee used to get really upset when she was sick and couldn't go to church and see her friends and go to class, so we would tell her that Daddy was just going to work. Well, guess she got too smart for us. She knew exactly where Daddy was going this morning, but thankfully she isn't upset about it.
Anyway, that's the end of my pinkeye blog. Not that you wanted to hear all about my daughter getting pinkeye, but there you have it anyway!! :-)

Zane's first haircut
The rest of our Christmas holiday (yeah, I'm a little behind!!)
I know it's February, but I still wanted to post these pictures from Christmas time. We were at my sister's in Minnesota and then also spent a couple days with Josh's family in Iowa.
On our way up to Minnesota, we stopped and spent Christmas Eve with our dear friends Jason and Beth Yoder and their kids. It was a short but very sweet visit.
Now, on to Minnesota pictures.
Tea and her doll (I can't remember what she named her) and Kylee and her doll Darlene. Both got them for Christmas. They thought that was pretty cool.
The following pictures are from our time in Iowa with Joshua's family.
Papa and Kylee and the small snowman that they were able to build. The snow was nt the best for building snowman, but Kylee was happy with the results.

Christmas #1 - At Home
Since there were too many pictures to pick from, I am dividing my Christmas posts into three posts (Home, Minnesota, & Iowa). Before we left for our trip, we made a gingerbread house with Kylee. Actually, the first half was made by Josh and Kylee, and the last half was made by Josh and me. She lost interest in making it and just wanted to eat it.

Kylee sang a couple songs with her Sunday school class and Wednesday night class in the Christmas program at church. I video taped it, but the pictures turned out blurry. Bummer.
We opened our gifts from each other here at home before we left. Kylee enjoyed being able to open Zane's gifts too since he wasn't too interested in tearing the paper. Zane couldn't decide if he wanted to play with the boxes, bows, his gifts, or his sister's.
