William Tell Overature Mom
I received this in a e-mail from a friend a little while back. It is so true. Sit back and enjoy!!!
Friends & New Orleans
Thursday and Friday were spent working on the house. Friday night we took them to the Rice Festival. It's a huge thing here. The kids even get off of school for it. Anyway, we usually only go to the kid's parade and where they have the fun jumps, because the main part is quite disgusting. There is trash EVERYWHERE. We took them down the main street so they could see everything. It was pretty interesting watching some of the people there.
On Saturday, we left the kids with babysitters and went down to New Orleans. I haven't been down there since Katrina except to go to the airport. We did drive through a couple parts where there were houses that were still destroyed, but we stayed mostly in the French Quarter. We ate lunch in a restaurant that used to be a house a LONG time ago. The food was great. We didn't have a whole lot of time,
so we pretty much just walked around looking at the main places. We did go to Cafe Du Monde and had beignets. They were delicious.Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Well, I just thought I'd toss the question out there so see if any of you might have some ideas. Thanks so much.

productive??
So, yesterday I decided to mow the front lawn. Kylee played by the front door where it wasn't "so hot" as Kylee put it! I was all happy with myself because I had got something productive done (which I hadn't felt like I had all day - must have something to do with having a
2 year old).
Our front door isn't that new. It was probably original with the house. It's wood and the front of it at the bottom is trying to peel some, but I went ahead and just painted over it and we were going to fix it later somehow. Having explained about our door, I come around the corner and find Kylee with pieces of our door in her hands! She found something that was loose and decided that it needed to come off. Having never told her not to peel the door (sounds funny just saying that), she wasn't in trouble but was told to never do that again. :-) Now I laugh whenever I come in the door. I still am going to do some touch up, though.
Oh, I tell Josh on the phone about what she did and he laughs and says, "I wonder who she got her destructiveness from?" Huh, I wonder!!! (After all, Josh IS her dad) :-)
So, at the end of the day the question comes to mind, how productive is the mom on a 2 year old???? Seems like I get one thing done and have to turn around and do something else that was messed up as I did the first thing! I'm not complaining, just stating the facts. The other fact is that Kylee brings joy, happiness, craziness, laughter, love, amazement, etc (oh yes, and insanity) to our lives. Gotta love her.
