I haven't had any weird food cravings, or dislikes for this pregnancy. I didn't have any when I was pregnant with Kylee either. The only thing that has been a little weird is that I haven't really wanted any coffee (decaf of course now that I'm pregnant) for the past few weeks. That's actually very weird for me. Anyway, I bought some more liquid creamer yesterday and am totally enjoying my coffee this morning. Yea!!! Oh, you need to try this creamer that's back for the coming holiday season. It's International Delight Pumpkin Pie Spice. So yummy.

Like mother like daughter
I told Kylee that she needed to take a bath tonight and she said, "Yeah, I need a bath. I look awful!" Hmmm......I think I've said that a few times before when I am going to take a shower in the morning! It's funny the things that they pick up. It makes me remember that she is watching everything that I do and say.
Women's Conference
Last weekend, our church hosted this year's Louisiana Christian Women's Seminar. The speaker was Connie Dietrich and the topic was Extreme Makeover. The day before, a few of us took Connie to the Acadian Village (It's a place where they've brought old houses, church, doctor's office, barn, etc. to the same place. It was very interesting to see how the Acadians used to live. I am so glad that I live now instead of then!
I didn't get any good pictures at the conference itself. Connie (God working through her!) did a superb job speaking, the decorations were absolutely beautiful, the worship was excellent, and all the laughter was the best! If you ever need someone to speak at a women's conference for you, I highly recommend her.

There was a building there where they recycle the Mardi Gras beads and also make things out of them. They had some fun masks there, also!

Princess dress-up
One day when Gracie was over last week, Kylee put on her flower girl dress from the wedding last November. I couldn't believe how much taller she is now! Gracie wanted to dress up like a "princess", too, so I found one of Kylee's old Easter dresses. Kylee found our corded phone that wasn't in use, and Gracie found one of Kylee's play cell phones. Supposedly, they were both talking to Gracie's mom. It was quite amusing.

Hurricane Gustav
When we thought that Gustav was going to be a category 4 when it hit, I decided that I didn't want to be around for the aftermath of no electricity, etc. Joshua needed to stay here, but Kylee and I drove to Montgomery, AL and stayed with some wonderful friends that we met while we were living in Biloxi, MS. Another friend and her kids also came there to get away from the hurricane. We had such a great time. The kids played and played. Us girls talked and laughed all day and late into the night! Since Gustav weakened so much, our electricity only ended up being off till Wednesday morning, so we were able to be home by Wednesday night. While we were in Montgomery, we were able to see some of the historical sites there. We actually only went to one museum, but stopped outside the others. Oh, and before we left, Ben let me drive his mini cooper. It is my most favorite car ever!! Now I really, really want one!

In Memory of Madilyn Bourque
On Wednesday, August 27, our friend's 15 month old girl died unexpectedly. That night at the hospital seemed like a nightmare that we never woke up from. I can't even imagine what our friends are going through. They also have a 3 year old whose name is Kylie Jo. The visitation was today and the funeral is tomorrow. This is just the beginning of the hard days for them and their family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
